You ever run a conversation in your head before it even happens? What you’ll say. How you’ll say it. How you’ll finally get through to them.
But when the time comes, it just doesn’t land.
Maybe it’s not your wording after all.
In Acts, the disciples didn’t suddenly become better speakers. They became different people. The same men who once ran in fear stood up and spoke with boldness. It wasn’t because they figured it out, but because the Spirit filled them.
We work towards clarity. Confidence. The right phrasing. But what we need most is more of God.
The Holy Spirit gives more than just the right words. He gives power.
Power that reaches people. Power that meets them where they are. Power that turns ordinary conversations into something that pierces the heart.
This isn’t a one-time gift. It’s daily. Ongoing. An open invitation.
You don’t have to get the wording just right. Just ask.
The same Spirit who empowered the early church is still at work. Still filling. Still speaking. Still moving in ways we can’t manufacture.
The breakthrough you’re looking for won’t come from saying it better. It comes from being filled.
Read: Acts 4:31; Luke 11:13
Acts 4:31 —
And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.
Luke 11:13 —
So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
Reflect: What would it look like for you to be filled before you speak?
